Vanessa Elias is the founder and owner of Elias ImmigrationLaw located in Charlotte/Matthews, North Carolina, and her practice is exclusively dedicated to immigration.

The firm’s philosophy is to provide personal service and cost-effective legal solutions to individuals. Counsel Elias practices before the United States Customs and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Executive Office of Immigration Review (Removal Court), the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), and the Department of Homeland Security while actively and effectively communicating with ICE Removal officers and its supervisory personnel.

Mrs. Elias believes in giving back to the community and the concept of paying it forward. She has volunteered her time and knowledge in non-profit organizations, her children’s schools, homeowners associations and other worthy groups such as Habitat for Humanity, Matthews Chapter, where for two years she was part of the Family Selection Committee and in charge of executing contracts with future homeowners. She is member of the Golden Door Scholars (GDS) Board participating in the selection process of undocumented DACA students who are granted scholarships for college tuition and of the Board for Legal Services of Southern Piedmont.

Mrs. Elias studied Finance at the University of Puerto Rico graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1991, and obtained a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Puerto Rico Law School in 1994. She is admitted to practice law in the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico, the Federal District Court for the District of Puerto Rico and the United States Courts of Appeals, First Circuit.

Attorney Vanessa Elias started her law career in Puerto Rico working at Mellado & Mellado Villarreal Law Offices in commercial litigation and estate law. Then she worked for seven years at McConnell Valdes, the largest law firm in Puerto Rico, in the Labor and Employment Law Department where she was named Partner. In 2003, attorney Elias formed the law firm Vanessa Elias & Associates dedicated to general civil practice in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In 2004, she moved with her family to Charlotte, North Carolina where she has resided since then. In 2010 she started practicing immigration law.

Attorney Vanessa Elias was born in Alexandria, Louisiana and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She is married to Bernie Rosario and has two children.
